As I've noted in earlier posts I'd fully intended to take my car to Phil at CPC for the imminently required Inspection II service indicated by the one remaining light on the dash.
However, being based in the Basingstoke area with a hectic personal and work calendar for the foreseeable future and a reliance on public transport for return journey for the 24 hours + without a car a trip to the Amersham area was looking to be too problematic. I started researching places a little nearer to home for standard servicing - I'd imagine I'll still be looking to have CPC look at faults etc should they occur.
Finally decided on using Brystone's in Totton, Southampton as a (5 series owning) colleague from the area had heard good things and although there were only a few online mentions they all seemed to be favourable. Totton rail station was only 2 miles away with a 50 minute direct train back to Basingstoke.(one of the team gave me a lift to the station)
The unit is in a new business park (there's a Maserati/Ferrari workshop at the opposite end) and Brystone's unit is very tidy and organised.
Communication via email, phone and in person was faultless, very professional and amiable from all the staff I had contact with. I had no hesitation leaving the car with them.
I mentioned a couple of things when dropping the car off that I had concerns about just as I left the unit. They were clearly registered by Richard the service manager and passed on to the mechanic as there were additional notes added to the service sheet indicating they had been looked at.
Only problem was an out of date M-mobility kit that I'll get changed myself. The bill was a very reasonable £568-00 including the valve clearances (no shims required this time) that some indies have told me they won't check.

Thumbs up from me.
