I did a search on here to find out about this indy but couldn't find anything.

    Does anyone have any experiences?

He is an ex BMW master technician with 35 years experience so hopefully he will be good!
He certainly knew his stuff and mentioned that the BMW booklet is quite out of date with regards what should be done at each inspection.
After giving him my chassis number he could determine what exactly he should be carriying out. He did seem shocked that Vines of Guildford were sticking castrol GTX Magnetec in my car and said that it should be the TWS oil.

I am having an inspection I so he wanted the car the night before so he could check the valve clearances.

The price quoted was £400 plus V.A.T but I get 40% off of Genuine BMW parts so I will try and be cheeky and see if I can supply the plugs and oil as that is a big bulk of that cost.

I will let you all know how it goes.

    Don't know him .. but what's your car, S50 or S54?

Had a main dealer and a well known specialist tell me that a semi-synth 10/40 was better for my S50 engined Z3MC than a fully synth.

      It is a S5O,

When it comes to oil and our cars it seems to be slightly unclear. I have read all the threads on it and I believe it is just something that will never have a definite answer, everyone has their preferences or been informed of the "correct type".

My car has been running very well on the Castrol GTX Magnetec that BMW put in and I will have something to compare it to when it gets the TWS oil later this month. I am sure that it will continue to run well too.

      Cheers
