Broccers

My car went to the dealers on Monday for the leaking petrol tank sorting out once and for all. However the parts required had to be ordered from Germany and my Coupe has stayed in bits until their arrival tomorrow or Friday.

Sytner have very kindly lent a 523 touring with M suspension for the duration. Here it is :

Surprisingly for such a large car the handlings pretty good. Downside though is kickdown takes a week making overtaking manoeuvres interesting. You have to boot it and 3 seconds later reevaluate whether its still safe to pass the vehicle in front.

I reckon a 550 touring would be a proper tool though. Worthwhile as a family car - just a bit too dull.

Simon.

Know what you mean about the kickdown Broccers. I had a 3 litre X3 auto whilst mine was last in and I nearly collected a vectra on a dual carriageway as I floored it and pulled out and only after about 3 seconds did the power come

Had a 3 litre 3 series manual another time, that was pretty quick though you felt completly removed compared to the Coupe no sense of urgency about the accelleration and handling.
