Last oil change it had BMWs finest put back in it, so whatever the one they recommend is!

If you fancy a change next time it needs it, I tried Silkolene Pro S 5w40 from Opie Oils before that and it was fine - used a little as it was thinner, but plenty of protection, ran at normal temps (possibly slightly cooler) and you can buy yourself a lot cheaper than BMW get the specific M engine Castrol..
