Anyone had a similar dilemma? my driver's seat interior seems to have a loose component, feels like a vertical post/ strut and moves from l to r as I corner!! very odd, or perhaps standard? Only had the MC a week, so, just feeling my way around, not sure on the attraction for very young speedsters in Novas,Mitsubishis etc!!!Seems the whole world wants a race!

Got the same noise in mine, not sure what it is ... I thought it may be the top mounts so was going to get the stealers to take a look !

Hi Kiddle,
I am sure it is confined to the seat back, loose component inside me thinks, will strip down and investigate as soon as I am able. Thought it may have been experienced/remedied by someone here Ta!

I have an occassional "knock" sound that fits this description. As you say it tends to occur when cornering and sounds like something hitting something else. It appears to come from the seat or front of the boot but I have been unable to pin it down - although I haven't started stripping things.
Would be very interested to know if you find a cause.

I have exactly the same thing on my S54 roadster. Noticeable when going from a left to right bend and vice versa. It's definitely something in the back of the seat - driving me crazy!
I have this noise too. Stripped down the luggage cover and dog net bit but couldn't find anything loose so must be in the seat back.

Anyone resolved this yet ?
I'm still getting this most irritating knocking come creaking noise from somewhere.

you sure it's coming from the seat and not the tonneau cover sliding from side to side in it's reel and knocking against something??

Had a similar noise from the rear, initially suspected the rear top mounts but turned out to be this.

Mines definitely not the tonneau/dog net as I removed it complete and went for a test drive and the rattle on cornering is still there.
Its an easy test though, just pull the 2 end pieces off and unbolt the 2 pairs of 10mm nuts and the whole unit lifts out of the car.

I'll investigate the tonneau cover first
Just thought I'd resurrect this thread as I finally cured my side to side rattle that my car has had since I bought it well over a year ago. It's probably the only time I've made some money working on my car!!
The rattle sounded like it was behind me, maybe behind the carpet or the rear bulkhead trim but I'd checked all that and couldn't find anything. Anyway, I was driving and put my hand down and behind the seat touching the seat rail and swerved the car left to right to make the noise and could "feel" it through the seat rail like a clunking/tapping.
So I disconnected the battery (for the airbag light on the seatbelt pretensioner) and removed the seat; undo the 2 front 13mm nuts, then the 2 rear 16mm bolts. Tilt the seat back and unclip the 2 power connectors and the small airbag connector at the back of the seat and lift the seat out (its heavy!).
I turned it up side down and waggled it and could hear the rattle; using a spare battery and 2 pieces of wire I extended the height motor fully up and shook it again and 2 50ps, a 5p and a 20p came from somewhere!! Woohoo! There was also some glass in the rail so it must have had a glass replaced at some time. I made sure all the rails were clear, put the seat back in and its nice and quiet now!!!
