Comments please guys.
Is it as fixeable as the seller thinks?
Would I be a fool to buy and fix?
The rest of the car is excellent.
Thanks

Anything is fixable!
You have to ask yourself why he is not fixing it before he sells it? Probably 'cos it will cost a fortune to fix it right. You will not be a fool if you get a lot of money knocked off.
Is it possible you can get a quotation for the job? If so then get him/her to knock the quote plus a further 10 to 15% off the sale price

Rags,
Like Greenbat said, anything is fixable. However this car has the infamous rear Rear sub-frame failure that other cars have reported (and from the pictures, it looks like a bad case of it).
There are plenty of guys on this website who are sweating over whether their car will develop this over the life of the car. Based on this, I would avoid going out and buying a car that you know already has this problem (and especially as it hasn't been fixed!!).

You should buy this car only if you get discount enought to repair the damage(and at the same time strenghten the floor) and if the rest of the car is in good condition.
yeah agreed, it is a mess.
The car itself has a quiet vanos and the bodywork is mint.
No point me taking such a risk .
The funny thing is that the seller(who is a trader) says its nothing to worry about and says he will fix it
I worry for the new owner...

You could post the reg as a warning to potential buyers????

Out of interest, what is the asking price of this vehicle, the age and mileage?

W reg, 50k on the clock, estoril blue, LHD, £12495.
 the only two issues are the boot and the LHD!

Absolute robbery if the dealer is trying to shift that particular car in the UK where we drive on the left AND with the boot floor problem.

LHD and a boot sub frame problem! Avoid like the plague :!: You can get RHD version with no subframe failure for 2 or 3 grand more.
And the dealer says its nothing to worry about!!
I cannot see how having a sub frame crack in the boot of your car, big enough to slip your fingers into is not an big issue. You know there are better cars out there.
I think you may have just saved me a trip to look at this car! Not in rural Sussex by any chance is it?
As my user name suggests I have a penchant for left hookers this one could have been ideal,a real shame.

indeed.
to be honest, you could at least call him up and see what he says...
I see what you mean but the fact he didn't reveal the car had this problem (he presumably knew- if not even more worrying!) puts me off.
I'll just keep looking on mobile.de and import one myself I guess.
To be honest, the guy would never have known.
He didn't seem to understand the extent of the problem.
Anyway, what can you do?
I don't blame him, although if I was buying a car as a private individual it has to be said I'd inspect under the carpet and have it on some ramps, maybe as a dealer he was too busy.
Either way with damage like that it isn't the car for me, there's always another one out there if you are prepared to wait.
Hope it gets fixed properly for the next owner though, the rest of the car sounds too good to go to waste.
