Jacques Villeneuve will drive his BMW Sauber Formula One car through London’s Hyde Park on the Tuesday following the British Grand Prix. The demonstration run will form part of a promotional event organised by one of the team’s major sponsors.
Villeneuve will power his F1.06 along a 380-metre stretch of closed-off road. He will be joined by BMW’s reigning world touring car champion, Andy Priaulx, who will take to the course in a BMW M6 road car, providing a fascinating insight into the relative performance of the two machines.
The demonstration run will take place at 1000 local time on Tuesday June 13. It will not be the first time Hyde Park has echoed to the sound of Formula One power. Minardi demonstrated one of the two-seater cars there back in 2003.
