Just a quicky.

I noticed this morning that my wingmirrors are heated all the time.

Seems a bit odd to me so I called the dealer who said they should be and this is normal.
Don't have the manual to hand so could anyone confirm thsi for me.

Ta.

I think this is normal, a lot of cars just have them heated all the time, occassionally they are connected to the heated rear window switch.

They are on 100% of the time, don't worry its normal.

EDIT - I mean when the ignition is on! ;-)

That's interesting - and I'm surprised. I had always thought the heated mirrors were on all the time. The manual says that the mirrors will defrost automatically when the key is a position 2 - but guess this could mean they will heat up automatically if it is needed.

I saw the same debate being had on zroadster about the heated washer jets - again, I had thought they were always heated as well, regardless of whether or not it is cold.

UK owners handbook says " Both mirrors are heated automatically in
ignition key position 2, depending on outside temperature." but this may be different in other parts of the World.

I thought the motor was broken in my passenger door mirror, but noticed it wasn't heating either the other morning so likely to be a lack-of-power issue rather than the motor. First port of call is to check there's power to the motor by removing the mirror, followed by the switch I guess. Any other places to check? Are there connectors along the route from switch to mirror?
