Tyre Pressure Monitors

On the (much lauded) recent weekender, a few of us had new tyres and the topic of tyre pressure came up more than once.

£10.50 for 4, and with the tyre inflated to the correct pressure, these will warn you of any decrease in psi.

Good idea, I wonder if they have got any security on them. I have lost 2 sets of chrome valve caps this year.

Have ordered a set - one concern is; if they sustain damage, will the valve shut off, or allow the tyre to deflate?
I'll carry my old dust caps to cover that eventuality i guess.
