View Full Version : MC at last! Where to get M badges?
Ha Ha! After many years of waiting yesterday i picked up my MC! Awesome!
Having so many revs to play with takes a bit of getting used to....but if you keep winding it round the tacho you really unleash the beast :D
First thing to do on the car - replace those faded M badges!
Where's the best/cheapest place to get replacement badges for a 99 S car? Have looked at ebay but i'm not sure which ones will fit the bonnet vents?

pics?
WHat colour is it etc?
I got mine from the stealers was about £30 for all three.
Thanks.
Its Estoril with Estoril leather, S plate, 41k miles. I'll put some pics up once its had a proper clean!
is it from Trowbridge?
What was it like?
Get them from a dealer they are cheap enough (sides are about £7 each, rear is about £17). I laquered the stickers on mine so they won't fade again (the laquer isn't noticeable).
I did think about getting some newer S54 curved badges (which look nicer IMO) but was too late and had already ordered the "straight" S50 ones.

S50 style:
Rear - £20.70 (5114 2 250 811)
Side - £7.16 each (5114 2 492 942)
S54 style:
Rear - £19.80 (5114 2 694 404)
Side - £19.80 each (5114 7 892 003)
Good info guys thanks.
The other thing that needs sorting is the chrome boot handle above the number plate, which is all bubbly. Anyone know a part number/cost?
Yes, i did purchase the car from Jaie in Trowbridge. 5 green lights on so no service needed, but hasn't been done many miles in the last year. Am considering taking it to a dealer/specialist to be checked over just for my piece of mind....everytime i floor it i have at the back of my mind the thought of an expensive engine blowing itself to bits!

The answer to all your part no. issues:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.do?model=CM92&mospid=48075&prod=19981000
The part you're after is (I think) a 'Trunk Lid Grip' 5122 8 400 128.
wow. now that's a useful website! :D Thanks

Congrats, pies! I wish you many trouble-free miles of fun.
First thing I did was replace the badges. Bought them from the dealers. Was the easiest option for me.
Now....I'm trying to not get carried away, but i already want to put a sportier exhaust on it!
As much as i'm loving the performance of my new baby, i don't think the standard exhaust is quite loud enough.
Can anyone recommend one that gives a more agressive note without too much bass drone on a cruise?
