Hi guys and ladies

Wanted to ask about carbon fibre bonnets? Does anyone here have one on their M coupes?? I'm doing some enquiries with CA-automotive... Will hopefully make my car even lighter and faster..hehe. The other nice thing is u can customize it with vents and stuff!!

Hey Schnitch

Hey Manic

Thanks. She's Imola red with the Schnitzer conversion. A 2001 S54 model. I'm in Cpt too!

Schnitch.

Hopefully Sportech is going to get back to me about the bonnet

Did you just get her?

I've seen her floating around the Waterfront area for a couple of years. Love the Schnitzer conversion.

Was speaking to one of the guys at Forsdicks, and he claims that there were only 10 Schnitzers produced by BMW SA. So you have something really rare in your hands!

What colour is the interior?

And how are you finding the suspension? I am very keen to get it done to mine, but am worried that it will scrape everywhere and that I am going to rip off the front bumper!

Yes, just got her 2 weeks ago! Bought it from a guy in Stellenbosch.

I've done some research myself before i bought the car. In fact, there were 35 of these imported by BMW South Africa. Still, she could become quite a collector's item.

I must say the ride is very firm. She feels like a real racing car, meant for the track. However, i've never driven one of the standard models, so i cant compare. The Schnitzer suspension is usually more firm than the M Sport suspension. If i were you i'd go for the Alpina suspension, but i don't think we can get it here in South Africa :( Another thing is that the front wheels are slightly too broad. At times it scrapes on the inside of the front wheel arch when you turn while going over a bump. So, she really is more of a looker and a racer. Not for everyday use.

I hope to get her on the track soon. Do u know of a BMW M club in the Cape Town area?

You can stop the wheels rubbing by swapping the front top mounts over Left ->Right and Right -> Left. This will put about 3 degrees of negative camber on the front axle which will improve turn in and also make the car even more of a "looker" 8)

Unfortunately not. I didn't even think of looking for one!

I am keen to try the BMW M Power day in JHB one of these days. My car doesn't have DSC, so I would like to learn to drive her properly.

Let me know if you are ever in Claremont or Bellville. Would love to take a closer look at your baby.

What's the mileage on your car? And have your renewed the motorplan? I'm using the extended motorplan through Motorite. All the benefits of the BMW motorplan, but somewhat cheaper, and they let you extend out to ten years instead of BMW SA's standard 7 years.

Thanks for the complement.

Not sure about the Kyalami course. I know you can take your own car to the course at Killarny. You should look into that. I know Subaru often organise programmes at Killarny for people who buy their cars.

Would you actually drive your car up to JHB just for the course?
