My drivers door has been getting harder and harder to open so I just took a look at it and checked to see if the little black mechanism that grips round the door mount was working ok.
well it clicked into place as if it would around the door mount but of course the door isnt shut and now it wont push back up meaning I cant shut the bloody door.
Just had a look at the passenger side and guess what.
Ive just done the same thing.
Is there some reset procedure or am i gonna have to take the sodding doors apart.
Cocks.

Whilst you're having trouble with the doors, get some silicone lubricant and spray it into the locking mechanism and keyhole, including the back door.
And, whilst you've got the silicone in your hand, spray a little into the groove of the rubber of the window runners so that the motors continue to work nicely. Also clean off the alarm button for the bonnet and spray some silicone there too.
In 10 minutes you'll prevent 3 common problems and lessens your need for EW.

I do the first two semi regularly and it definately does help but what does the third point mean?

Quite a number of people have experienced the MC's alarm going off without apparent reason. This has happened to me twice now with a 2002 car. The first time the stealers replaced the bonnet switch under manufacturer's warranty. The same thing started happening again last year after I decided not to bother with EW. I investigated all the alarm system and found that the problem was caused by dust getting into the bonnet switch. So I thoroughly cleaned the switch and lubrictaed the mechanism with silicone spray and the problem has never returned in the past 12 months. I now regularly clean this switch to avoid further problems.
