Hi All,
Hope you can help.
I drove down to London from Teesside on Saturday and during the last part of the drive (through very heavy London traffic in the baking midday heat) the (!) light came on as i depressed the clutch pedal. It also stalled on me twice in traffic whilst sitting neutral.
Any idea what could be the cause of these problems??
Thanks
Dave.
PS . Booking into an Indi on Friday morning for them to have a look.

Sorry I can't suggest what caused this problem but when your car is hooked up to a diagnostic machine, the error codes should tell the garage what and and when has caused this problem.

Thanks Exdos,
Do most Indi's have this diagnostic m/c's or would that just be main dealers?
Thanks
Dave

I'd only use an Indy with diagnostics equipment suitable for BMW's otherwise they're just guessing what's wrong. If I were you, I'd ask the garage before you take your MC in.

Its actually a BMW specialist so should have that kit but I'll check anyway.
Thanks

Not sure about the stalling thing but the (!) light is probably your brake fluid running a bit low. The clutch shares the same reservoir (it is hydraulically operated) so pressing it would cause a very slight drop in the level. Easy enough to check and top up (assuming you don't have a leak somewhere - have a look underneath the car for 'wet' marks) 8)
