How do you do this? After 2 years, I still can't figure it out, and the FAQ section answer is worse than useless.

It is obviously very simple as nobody else seems to have a problem  . So, would somebody please point out the bl**ding obvious to me.

Not sure what you mean David but if you mean how do I insert a photo into my post then :

www.myphoto.com/car.jpg

Should do the trick (no spaces).

Simon,
many thanks, but no, that does not help.
If I click on Img (above), it appears in the text and that is all that happens. It does not give me a 'browse' option to choose a photo on my computer, or indeed from any source.

you need to host the picture somewhere either in the forum gallery or a photo host site, then copy the link using the img buttons.

eg

Broccers,
having spent HOURS uploading 2 simple photos into the gallery, with your help thanks, I inserted them into a post (see Meets) and they have come out as thumbnails.
I typed the 'Properties' description into the post exactly; what have I done wrong?
Yes, I know it's elementary but sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees.

I upload pictures via http://photobucket.com/

1. Register and then log in.
2. Upload picture(s)
3. Copy the image or link into your post.

Its that easy.

Cheers

Thanks Greenbat - sorted.

EDIT - or not as it turns out; this is the first and last time I try and post photos on the site.

On a pc you:
1 - View desired picture (that is on the web),
2 - Right click on the image and select properties,
3 - Then highlight & copy the 'Address' [ this will look something like http://www.pistonheads.com/pics/news/16027/Lotus_Elise_111r_MY06-1-L.jpg ]
4- Then paste this 'Address' info in between 'img' tags in a post.

DO NOT copy the URL of the web page that you are looking at, right click on the image ...

So, removing the 2 ~ from:

Gives:
http://www.pistonheads.com/pics/news/16027/Lotus_Elise_111r_MY06-1-L.jpg
8-)
