Just got in from a day at Bedford Autodrome today with a few customers.

A great day with excellent staff that really push you to drive it to the extreme! (a few spin offs  )

cars included are:

Palmer Jaguar JP1 - Le Mans style car which is soooo fast
Clio CUP race car
Porsche CUP car
Caterham 7
350Z - superb for drifting :D
Palmer Audi race car(single seater) excellent fun!
Go Karting
Nissan Off roader

this is a full day where 90 people are split into teams and you are marked on each event for lap times and some other stuff...

Simply amazing

I managed to come 6th overall out of 90 people on the day which I was very pleased with 8) as there were some semi pros driving.

I would definitely recommend:!:

I went there for a similar (but much more cut down) day when it first opened. We got to drive the then new Audi TT, Caterham SLR, Go karts, our own cars on track and the top 3 from lap times in the caterhams had drives in the Formula Palmer Audi cars.

On points I came 3rd, mainly because the points were weighted more on the go karts which were on slicks in the wet and I was fastest which upset a few of the cheats with race licenses!! (the day was for novices)

So of all the cars what was the most awesome?

I ask cos I did the same thing a while back and the clio was the one I loved the most, I even persuaded then to let me on the track when they were doing the corporate awards thingy in my ZM, the Pro was loving it, the whole time he just kept shouting acelerate!!!!

I found the FWD cars less fun, the whole idea of driving a car that if you get on the power too early you will spin excites me.... am I sick?

I loved the single seater and the JP1 and the caterham for utter control and balance!

the 350Z was immense fun for a big drift

If I had to pick one it would be the sinle seater!

I was thinking I would love to get the Coupe out there! wish I had asked now!

Sounds like a cracking day, and no you're not sick. I went on a similar thing at Outlon a few months ago, they had Escort Cossies converted to rear drive only. Fitted with forest tyres running on tarmac. Holding a 270 degree full oposite lock drift was awesome, and yes I did spin it!

How much did it cost? I'm thinking of booking a mornings session in the rally cars alone, anyone interested?

Sounds fab.

I've only been there once competing in 'evo track driver of the year' which obviously I didn't win  Their Caterhams had the front ARBs removed for mucho oversteer, I managed a really good 360 on my timed lap and carried on to come 2nd last in the group.
