Well done Neil. As has been written many times b4, people are bound to have disagreements but there is a mature way of solving those disagreements. So in future lets be sensible about it.

Okay chaps,

before this develops into another bunfight (which WILL be deleted) let's draw a line under any past indiscretions, and move on. And that applies to all sides.

I see exdos has not posted on the forum since his 'Personal Thoughts' posts. Unless someone has spoke to him let's not jump to conclusions. Who knows he may be on holiday or something hence the lack of posting by him.

I think he will be back !

Anyway had a drag race with another MC (S54) from 30mph and up to !@$£*@mph we were dead even. I was carrying a passenger and I reckon I would have inched away if I was by myself. Anyway the only mod I have done is the exdos 'induction mod'. So Exdos does talk loads of sense plus his mods works!

Think you got wrong s54. Mine has a worn clutch that needs replacing (found after inspection 2 a few months ago). If I were in a drag with you you should easily outrun me. And with my gut I would easily count as having an extra person..

I've been reading this and the other Exdos thread and trying to decide whether to comment (it's usually a sign that I shouldn't ).

Playing Devil's Advocate has got me wondering about everything that went on. Yes, Exdos was/is a great benefit to the site and he was prepared to tinker about with his car and pass on his discoveries to the rest of us. This is obviously of great benefit to everyone who wants to go down a similar route. His communication style at points could be politely described as 'direct', or impolitely described as 'condescending'. I remember reading ages ago a post where Exdos commented on this himself and I just assumed it was a quirk of character and therefore was never really bothered about it. The thing is that if you are going to use that style of communication then people ARE going to have a go every so often.

Was the abuse deserved? Not at all. Did Exdos partially bring it upon himself? Possibly. In the world of the internet people are going to talk big and throw threats and abuse about. If it is going to get to you then I respect your decision to walk away, afterall life is too short. I'd like to see Exdos back but would hate for this site to become a 'Bring back Exdos' campaign as I for one have too few sick bags. He'll come back when he feels good and ready, but doesn't need to be turned into a martyr.

I’m certainly not used to winning popularity contests  and I am certainly not attempting to drum up any support for myself. My last posting to this forum expresses my position ( see http://www.z3mcoupe.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?t=4899 ). I'm interested in a very diverse range of subjects, and the MC is just one of them, so I've been occupied in other ways paying less attention to this forum. As I've said before I have no axe to grind with the overwhelming majority of members of this forum, so I'm not actually snubbing any of you.

I feel I must comment on the one point that Dare2fail brings up about my communication style, because it does seem to cause problems for others on this forum. I do spend a fair amount of my time writing, either technical or factual material, and so my writing style has become relatively formal and deliberately written to be unambiguous and, hopefully, the points that I try to make will be self-explanatory. To this end, I like my postings to have as few spelling mistakes as possible, to be properly punctuated and grammatically correct, and if I think it might help, I additionally include photographs or my own diagrams. Those members of the forum who have met me (and there are lots) know that I don't speak like I write (who does?).

I therefore cannot accept that anyone should feel that they have the right to "have a go" at me just because they dislike the fact that I attempt to use our written language properly, and especially by persons who cannot even spell their username properly

Neil M, you are one confused chap. Initially you supported the abuse I hurled in Exdos's direction which I have admitted was a mistake and have appologised openly on this forum for my actions.

The statement I made - 'actions speek louder than words' was not an insult to Exdos. All i was saying was he is obvioulsy pissed with certain individuals (me) and so instead of making further postings (words) he would simply stop posting (actions).

Im sure you will pull this apart as you are obvioulsy trying to kick something off here!

The phrase bi polar comes to mind when thinking about you - one day you dislike Exdos for no apparent reason (I thought I had good reason) then th next you are his best buddy and have joined the Exdos fan club.

I have to say, it is clear you are trying to make me bite so to speak as you obvioulsy enjoyed the last month of abusive posts and miss it.

As far as Exdos's absence on this forum over the last week, he really shouldnt throw his teady out of the cot so easily. Come on chaps grow up.

Psycho,

I have already twice invited you to pull apart my article at http://www.z3mcoupe.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?t=3849, which you have previously claimed to have been rubbish, yet, thus far, you have spectacularly failed to correct any of my points with your own more enlightened information. It seems to me that you have absolutely nothing positive to contribute to this forum, especially now that you no longer own an MC. If it's a case of you or I remain on this forum, then I far prefer to walk away and leave you to it: I have far bigger fish to fry than you :!: If on the other hand you wish to indulge in some serious discussion for the benefit of all participants on this forum, then please let me know and I will oblige. But until that happy time, I prefer to spend my time amongst more mature types who can spell the words psycho and teddy correctly and can discuss intellectual matters in the English language in a civilised manner. It is rich that you are now calling on us all to grow up when you, yourself, have performed the way that you have done in recent weeks :!:

Well, it appears my comments have had the desired effect - NOT
Never mind - at least no really personal abuse (or did I speak too soon)

Good to see you back in your inimitable manner with the most economic use of words to make your point as usual    (by the way, a trait you share with another correspondent on this thread).

In answer to the OPs 'Z3MCoupe RIP' thread - Neil, as you have now seen the forum is not about individuals but a community, and I think a great one.

That will never change. 8)
