Short notice I know but I have been waiting for details/confirmation of entry.

Dave Shelton has entered the exHawthorns Motorsport car on 24th March. However, the car is far superior now to its previous incarnation. His Yamitsu racing team have spent 12 months completely upgrading the car, including moving the engine 7 inches back :!: and other technical stuff I do not understand. I have been asked to say that recent dyno tests have put the output at around 400bhp ;)

It is definitely entered in the two Production S1 20 minutes races and will probably also be racing in the main 2 hour Britcar race (driver lineup being sorted out).
Times of the races on the day
Britsports 12.20. - 13.10.
lunchbreak
Production S1 14.10. - 14.30.
Alfa Romeo race 14.45. - 15.10.
Britcar 15.25. - 17.25.
Production S1 17.40. - 18.00.

Should be a good halfday out and not an early start :-P after Friday night. This is not a 'tickets for sale' event so I will be trying to arrange pit passes for any others than myself who want to go. Post if interested.

For those who have not seen the car as it was

Went along to the meeting and met up with the team running the Ex Rod Hawthorns motorsport car.
The engine has been moved closer to the bulkhead and lowered. As coupe fan said, over 400 +20 ps.Headlight clusters adapted to keep single light, and remaining section used for 100mm air pipes into intakes in CF, looks a good job.

Time ran out for the team in the preparation, so no time to test run anything.Sounds the Biz-- but they were having a few probs with NO brakes and locked suspension--so a bit difficult to drive in anger. They were going to use the day for bedding in, which seemed to progress during the day and times started to come down.A lot of money has been spent , so fingers crossed for the future.

John,
we have since spoken.
My impression was that the car was not tight enough DOWN - maybe needs lowering by 2 inches. Power looked competitive-ish and it sounded great (not that that means anything). I expect in 2 or 3 races that it will be right up there - suspension, suspension, suspension.

I am convinced the car can be developed into a winner with a lot of patience and dedication.

Or a few of us in one area ?

Seems the meets organising is a little flat at the moment.
