I bought the BMW Z3 Service Manual E36/7 E36/8 published by Bentley Publishers - stock no. B202. Purely for my peace of mind when I went from BMW main dealer servicing to Indy so that the garage can refer to it if necessary. 2 inches thick and full of mind boggling detail. Takes you through every stage of anything you could possibly want to do, with photos. Was about £60 2 years ago; has pictures of Z3M roadster above above a Z3M Coupe on the front cover.

If you do work/mods on the car yourself then I would say that it is essential to have.

The Bentley Z3 Service Manual is not as good as it could be, because it covers all the different Z3 variants and US spec ones at that, but since its the only manual of its type, IMO its a "must have" if you're going to keep the car for a good while.

Personally, I've managed to do every job that I've wanted on my MC by using all of the following resources: the Bentley manual; the BMW TIS and EPC disks; the realOEM website, several other BMW owners' internet forums and of course, this forum, which is the best resource of all for information on the MC.

Over the past few years of MC ownership, I've found that you only have to ask for advice and help from others "in the know" and you'll soon have the answer to your questions.

I have just received a new Bentley Manual today. I initialy thought it was expensive but now seeing it this is a thick book, at least three times that of a Haynes manual hence the reason for the cost. I got mine from the Amazon UK site on the new used section. I chose Specialist Book Supplies a UK company and got a brand new copy for £50.81 inc P & P which I reckon is a bargain when a lot of places charge £70 for it. Not only that I ordered it on Wednesday and it came today. Link is here if anyone is interested
