I recently had some work done there and received fairly decent service. I get the impression more and more though that dealers are not really interested in maintaining our old cars and the technicians they have aren't that familiar with the S50B32 engine nowadays.
That said the service advisors were quite friendly and patient given that they were the middle men between me and my third party warranty company.
My 1er is due back in there next month...:D

Well, they've been bloody useless in my quest to get a cover. I've had it ordered now for about 5 weeks, and despite 3 chase up calls, they've not yet returned my call. As I'm due an Inspection 1 this month, I'm umming and ahhing between them (2 miles away / maintain BMWFSH) and Bexley (well recommended indy) ...

4+ gets applied automatically however I don't think it stipulates the discount on the invoice. Worth checking.
I bought an outdoor cover from them however I supplied the part number because they kept ordering the roadster version.
Agreed on the phone calls front in that sometimes it can be a bastard to get through.
How many miles has your car done? I'd deffo be inclined to use Bexley.

I've no idea which version they've ordered (if any!) for me, as I can never speak to anyone in the parts department. I was *VERY* clear that it was for an MC, and as the guy there said he had a Z3MR, I'm hoping he knows the difference!
Just over 95,000 miles. I must admit that I think I'll get better service and better quality from an Indy, but I also know that to the uninitiated, the first non-main-dealer stamp will cost me a grand off any resale price. Not that I intend to sell, but I can't predict the future ...

Just get the bare minimum done there then to achieve the stamp. Then for all other work have Bexleys do it...
Here is the part number for the cover (http://www.evospeed.co.uk/page_1209556914890.html)

I've just had a decent chat with someone in service at Coopers, and while he's a nice bloke and all, can anyone help me on the VANOS filters and bolts change, that I've seen recommended.
They are suggesting that they'll change the filters, it being all there is that can be done. Talk of changing the bolts led to a looped conversation about unscrewing the filter and changing (something normally only done at 1,200 mile service, apparently). Is this right?
It's also > £200 more expensive, even before they start charging for what they find is wrong, so I'm tempted to bite the bullet and go Indy (Bexley) route ...

Just buy the parts and a torque wrench off ebay and DIY.
Here's (http://mukerji.co.uk/vanos/) the link to the DIY.
p.s: Did you het a cover in the end?

They'd cocked up the cover order ... It will be with them "soon" now. I really don't have a warm feeling about them, but because of the boot-floor issue which has raised it's head again recently, I'm going to stick with main dealer. And I'll do the VANOS stuff myself <<quivers>>
