not something that i personally need doing, but have a friend with an M3 convertible who thinks the noise from his vanos is excessive!

i have had a few M3 evos and from my past experiences some are noisy and some arent.

has anyone had theirs replaced? and did it make any difference to performance? noise?

thats the company he is looking to use, looks pretty basic from the website  but guess you gotta start somewhere. sounds like they know what they are doing, and the call out job part sounds pretty good too. :cheers2:

anyone used them? or thought about it?

Hi Indy,

That's Steve's company, a friend of ours has recently had his S50 Vanos overhauled by them - fantastic results.

You are right, in that they are a new business - but he is very knowledgable and comes highly reccomended.

Don't quote me guys, but IIRC the costs are the right side of £800 all in.

You're best bet would be to give Steve a call and tell him your issues. I imagine he will tailor the quote to your specific requirements -i.e seal replacement or full overhaul etc...

^^^Yep.

From what I've seen Steve post about the work, it's between £650 and £750 for a reconditioned unit + fitting all in.

A much better option than the Dr.Vanos from the US, or the very costly £2k fix from an Indy; mainly due to the fact Steve is UK based, and I'm certain will offer good post-work support.

no he didnt, he broke the car because of engine failure
