  • Auction - Dakar Yellow S50 05/08/2014

I keep my eye out for M Coupe's at auctions. Not the colour that I'd be wanting so happy to give others the heads up.
S50, Dakar Yellow, 50k Miles only. The condition report suggest it has a few scratched etc but the mileage is warranted and it has full history.
Due for sale at the BCA auction in Enfield on 5th August.

I'd post a link but you need a login - so just sign up on BCA and search for Z3. There is a screenshot of the listing here:

This car was for sale at Sytners?

Interesting. It looks way nicer in their ad! It looks as though the BCA report on the cars condition is hyper critical.
      I reckon it'll go for £14-16k.

Wow! That's a big drop in the price from what Sytner had it on for. I guess it could go for well more than the auction guide price, but goes to show that price elasticity of demand still exists in the world of Z3MC's in so much as Sytner need to be more realistic about the resale values if they want to actually sell the cars!

I think £20k is about top end for this particular car.

The thing with those Sytner cars (and the old Hexagon cars) is that they have to offer the BMW warranty with them. On a car of this age that could be significant exposure for them as a company... I think that's why they 'try their luck' with the price. If there are no takers then they sling it off to the auction.

Unfortunately BCA don't seem to publish their 'sold' prices so unless someone goes to the auction we may not know how much this goes for.

I just wonder if it will fetch decent money at a auction, assuming most attending may not appreciate its rarity.

Link worked fine for me. Seems a lot of body work defects! You would have thought Sytner would have sorted some of these if they where advertising the car at just under £30k!

If thats worth £20k then I'll start planning my own early retirement today. Be really interested to hear what this ends up going for with the condition, mileage and marmite colour taken into account. My guess is around the £13k mark.

It sold for £17,200.... if it was a private buyer there's about £800 on top of that....!

£18k at auction! Remember that means no comeback no warranty nothing just what you see is what you get. (unless it's nicked and you've paid the immunity premium before the auction took place)

                      Wowzers!

                      Still hate Dakar though.
