  • whats wrong with it?

    http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1135124.htm

why isnt this car sold yet? with all these wanted S54 posts, is everyone scared to buy it because of its mileage?
i remember it for sale when it was at a motorbike shop or something for about 11.5k, was well cheap then!!! still seems a very good price now for an S54 in black and 52 plate.

I've considered it, but for me, yes; it's the miles. Price reflects that though, so I assume it must have been viewed, and is perhaps a bit tatty for it's age. Assumtions, but something about it doesn't appeal, and that must be true for other buyers, hence why it's still there.

    Does anybody know it?

      hi keith, hows the cs!

i think thats down to the crap camera thats been used to take the pics.
i remember the pics of it when it was for sale before and it looked much better than it does now, cant be any worse as i think this garage just bought it for whatever price then put their markup on it.

it was advertised on autotrader maybe more than 6 months ago at a harley garage for about £17k (?) and the seller kept dropping the price till eventually it got to £11500 and then sold (maybe through pistonheads)
then shortly after, it appeared on asm's listings with a couple of other nice looking MC's.
they seem to sell a lot of nice cars, just wondered why this one is still for sale, and has anyone viewed it yet

I saw it from a distance when I bought my Imola S50 from them a few months back - looked OK, but was out of my price range so I didn't go too close lest I got tempted...

The guys at ASM know their stuff - the owner is currently doing an M5 to MC conversion. I was very happy with the service I got from them.

Indy? As in GTII Indy? How are you mate?

I think as a trader, ASM should take some half decent photos and write a good advert. It may actually be a minter, but the ad doesn't really shout that, if you know what I mean?

Its probably worth a check tbh, if the ASM guys are as good as Knightrider suggests.

I hope it isn't the miles.

I'm on high 80's and wouldn't be able to let mine go for that with the amount of care I take over it. Would feel like a robbery.

Having said that mines in the best colour so it's probably worth high 30's eh?

I think that does look cheap. Maybe it's not been maintained? If it needs new tyres, and Insp II, a new clutch etc. etc. it doesn't look so cheap.

If not, looks like a decent deal.

PS Mine's just ticked through 100k. New front brakes (calipers, disks and pads) last month and it's sorted the slight vibration I had (I think the disks were slightly warped).

Doesn't look cheap to me .. there was that black S54 on here recently for 16k with 40k or so miles?

Rightly or wrongly once cars get near 100k people get jittery about buying them, I've bought a few high milers and doesn't worry me, but the price has to be right IMHO

The S54 models are very rare so I guess something must be wrong with the car. If an S54 appears on German used car sites it´s usually gone within a few days.

Think this was up for sale when I was looking for mine early last Summer. As was the Silver S50 they have listed, too. I think with the S54 it's the mental block of it heading for 100k.

                        I've seen and driven...

I went and checked it out a few months back while I was searching for a black one. Seller seemed pleasant and let my Dad and I take it out for a test drive. Has done a few miles and I'm not sure its been lovely owned if you know what I mean. Its rightly listed as a one owner car but by what seems to be a leasing company and if thats correct it could have had numerous owners.

I don't know, it just didn't feel right. Had all the toys etc but wasn't the one for me. Eventually found my perfect match in a completely standard black with black and red leather S54 with all the trimmings!! She's sat on my driveway covered in Ultra Deep Shine Autogylm, beading relentlessly!!

Pending some alloys. Feel free to post some feedback/pictures if you have any personal recommendations!?! I'm thinking CSL's to try and keep it looking kinda OE.

Hopefully show it and see you at Gaydon in August.

P.S. New to this place, how do you add signatures to your posts??

Mileage is everything when selling. It shouldn't be but it is. Not many people are prepared to pay £13k for a car with nearly 100k on it.

I also don't think that looks cheap and I feel that the price is probably the main reason it hasn't sold.
