  • airbag light

I think that I might have answered this myself......but just in case, I'd welcome some input.

Recently did the Whalen anti-seat rock bushing fix, since then (I think) the airbag light has been on. I reckon that I probably haven't clipped a connection together properly under the seats, but wanted to check what your opinions were before I started taking them both out again.

If anyone can think of any other reasons if it is not likely to be that I'd welcome input.

    Cheers,

    Richard

Unless you disconnected the battery for 30 mins or so before you unclipped the connection you will need to have the airbag light re-set by dealer(£££!) or indie.

Bugger, don't remember reading that on the fitting instruction sites I visited.

As Chippy said you need to disconnect the battery before disconnecting airbag lines otherwise the control module senses a fauly and the airbag light won't go out until it's been reset by computer.

Dealers take the michael for reseting airbag lights (I was quoted about £75) even though it takes seconds to do. I'm not sure where you are based but my local specialist (BMTECH) charged £5-£10 to do it in Manchester.

Mine needs resetting as well - it's on the list for when I get round to booking it in with Phil Crouch

Interesting to hear about the seat bushes as I've got exactly the same problem - it feels like there's a little play in the seat under hard acceleration and braking (especially the latter where it feels like something nudging against the back of the seat in a normal car). Have just ordered from Doug Whalen HERE, so seeing as the airbag light needs resetting anyway I'll do this first
