  • Recommended exhaust?

    Hi all

I've been searching the internet the past couple of days for an affordable exhaust system. I'd prefer a catback system, stainless steel. The sound I'm looking for is loud at the top end and a quiet grumble at the low end. Budget is around £500, and I don't mind buying second hand.

I'm struggling whilst looking for Z3M specific exhausts, but would e36 3 series fit? I'm really an exhaust noob having never bought one before.

    Any help appreciated

Obviously E36 items won't fit as there are two symmetrical back boxes on the Z3M. They're not cheap because the car is rare

Main options are SuperSprint, Eisenmann. SuperSprint road is quite quiet, but sounds nicer than stock at high revs. Eisenmann can be race (loud) or quiet (road) I think.

Essentially you want the back boxes, the "centre" part from the manifold holds the cats.

Modifying your existing back boxes is an option, there are some threads by Exdos about this.

Several members have used "Pro-speed" who custom make exhausts,

I take it the back boxes make the biggest impact then? How much am I looking at for pro-speed ones?

The back boxes are the system really, the cats are the centre section.
