  • Three M Coups, which is the best???

    Dear All,

I'm a newbie to this site and these wonderful machines and I would like your assistance on which car you believe is the best coupe / value for my hard earned money.

    Here they are:
    Blue: http://www.targetcars.eu/cars/bmw-z3...0580miles.html

    Black: http://www.targetcars.eu/cars/bmw-z3...miles-rhd.html

    Silver: http://www.targetcars.eu/cars/bmw-z3...miles-rhd.html

Now...all cars are around the same price, all are either Cat C or D insurance jobs, two have service history's and each URL has a link to listen to the engine.

Please let me know which one you believe is the best car and why?

    Cheers,

    Jason

All read pretty much the same , choose your preferred colour combination if your bringing back to England or buy the blue one if your registering it in Europe as it has a certificate of conformity , it will save a few quid and a bit paper work in mainland Europe

        None of them for me.
The blue one because of the tinted glass, the S54 badge on the boot (rear end may or may not have been damaged) and most of all the hideous woofer in the boot.

The black one because of the non standard parts - including the front bumper. And I'm not keen on the orange leather tbh.

The silver one - hmm, I may be wrong, but the front bumper doesn't look terribly well aligned with the right hand front wing. May be my imagination.

Why focus on this dealer? Is it because it's a convenient location to where you are?

Wow cloudburst you have a good eye! And you're right, the dealer is conveniently located to me and the coupes are at the right price point for me.

My plan is to buy a right hand drive and bring it back to Austria where I am currently living and then take it back home with me to Australia and to keep for several + years.

Both the black and the blue also have non standard front lights.

Having gone through this process of looking at many Z3 and M coupes (12) over the past several weeks, I'd say pass on all of them. Maybe its just me but none of them strike me as particularly well cared for, and a couple of them appear to have a hard driving owner who wasn't keen on maintenance in the past. I've been watching quite a few online as well from the US and EU/UK for comparison as well - I'd expect a 70K example to be in better condition?

Added thought: If the guy could export the Black one to the US he could double his money in Oregon with that orange/black combo - same colors as Oregon State!

Actually looking again at the spread of pricing in the EU these aren't like stratospheric - given you'd save €5,000 on the buy vs. the lowest of the higher priced ones available it may well be a more pragmatic choice if budget is a driver. In that case I'd go for the Estoril blue one as it appears least abused.

Are you able to see, inspect, and test drive? If so will they put it up on a rack for you to look at underneath ?

                  None

sorry to burst your bubble but all 3 are crap.

all 3 have faults and none standard parts.( shows a cheap repair to me)
crap tyres last but not least

why would you buy an accident damaged repair one ???

when for not much more you would get a good one over here.

nothing wrong with a repair if its don right

were only a ferry or a flight away.

every one who's been to see them have spoke of either a poor car or crap customer service .... may as well buy private

look on their website they are a damaged car dealer.

if you must buy one of these 3 ask for pre repair photos and an insurance
damage report as a dealer they will have these

oh and welcome and good luck with your search

By the time one of them has been re registered in 2 different countries I doubt it will show any history of being a plonker , I thought about trying it !

If they come back to the UK they will show up HPI based on the chassis number

I could not even get close to that for my cat D and it properly mainted in my care so I wonder who actually buys these cars

Thanks BiT. Yes I will get a chance next Friday to have a good look at all three cars in person and go through my expanding checklist of what to look at....and the one that I think is the best I'll hopefully have a PPI carried out on that coupe.

none for me, none of them float my boat, they seem too expensive for a car that is damage repaired and there are much nicer examples out there.

obviously its personal preference but as this thread is asking that, it would be a no on any of them.

i was in your position not so long ago and looking for a z3mc, but its not worth rushing into anything just because you cant see anything else around at the moment, took me 12 months to find a decent one, and i nearly bought a few bangers but its worth holding out in the end. something will pop up.
