Me and my coupe were involved in an accident last week, resulted in us hitting a wall at about 30mph, front nearside took most of the brunt but some damage to offside too, no injuries, no airbags, but the car is not so good !
My insurance took it to local BMW main dealer and according to the tech, the cost to fix indicates a pottential insurance write-off, apart from front radiator, bonnet and light clusters, there is a split around the nearside suspension strut mount, because of this they are not sure of the full extent of the damage, i.e. if there is suspension damage, and it requires a full geometry check that involves removing the engine and most of the front end, most of the cost in the report is laboura and unknowns.
Given that my insurance is likely to write it off, what do you think is a reasonable amount to buy it back, either with a view to fix it and out it back on the road as a cat D (assuming that is how they will class it), or to break ?
Needless to say i am gutted, i spent ages finding the right car, have enjoyed driving it and have spent money and lots of time getting it right, @£&@####.
Fingers crossed for a good outcome.
