My MC is going to be due an Oil Service rather soon, so I'm looking for the best dealer to take it to. Seeing as all the previous owners have kept the car in the main dealer network for servicing, I don't want to be the one to break the chain, certainly not for the least expensive service.

Has anyone got any experience of either Scotthall Stanmore, Scotthall Watford (both near home ) or Cooper Thames Ditton (near work) dealerships?

Has anyone used the fast track service option that BMW Battersea offer? Is there a premium charged for the fast service?

I live 2 minutes from Coopers Thames Ditton and would certainly give them a go as my car has been to them over the years - last owner was from Hampton.

I had a good chat with the service manager and he even knew my car which actually means a lot as you are never quite sure about whether main dealers like working on old cars.

Based on that, I would definitely give it a go despite my reluctance to use dealers. The fact I can walk home afterwards means its dead easy.

Dont go to holland park ever!! Twice my mcoupe has come back with big scratches on it. Today asked them to change the water pump and they ordered the pump but no gasgets or o rings. Said it was ok to drive even though the cooling fan was rubbing on the rad.!!!:boxing_smiley:

Heard good things about thames ditton though and cooper in cobham seem v helpful

Great. Cooper Thames Ditton are just up the road from my office. Nice and convenient. I'll take it there.

No problem. I'll be driving it to work (Kingston) this Thursday when my travelcard expires.

Kingston is great(only because I live there) however driving there in any kind of traffic is a nightmare!

Well, it's nearly 3 months later and the oil service light has only just come on this morning. That too quite a bit longer than I expected, which is a nice surprise. I'll be calling Cooper TD to book it in next week.

Okay, I had the service done at BMW Specialist Cars Luton. All in all quite good, although I'm still a bit miffed about the way the price doubled when the letter M came into the equation.

Anyway, they've given me a list of items than need checking or changing so I'm now looking for a decent reuptable indy in the region.

Has anyone had any dealings with Technosport near Staples Corner?

The things I need doing are replacing the brake fluid, changing (or fixing the fault) the inlet camshaft sensor, new fan and air-con belts, tracing and fixing an oil leak, and finally fixing the PAS which squeaks/chirps on full lock.

I haven't had a look yet, but I reckon I could do the belts and the cam sensor myself. However the PAS, oil leak and brake fluid can be left to the pros. Are Technosport the guys to go to?

Okay, I took the car to Technosport today to have the belts and brake fluid changed. It's hardly a glamorous garage, it's an old fashioned 'arches' garage. However, the work was done for the price that I'd been quoted. I got chatting to the owner when I picked the car up, talking about the E46 M3 race car that was in the garage. It turns out it's his car and he races it in Britcar. He definitely knows his stuff and is enthusiatic about BMWs.

All in all, perfectly happy with their service and the brakes definitely feel less spongy with the new fluid. Bring on Abingdon :)
