  • Who's running KW set-up

When I left the fold about 2.5 years ago very few were running on KW suspension, I can only remember myself and exdos, ( apologies for anyone else, but it's an age thing ).
Reading through some of the topics recently it would appear that more and more people seem to have this fitted to their cars, just curious as to why you decided to go for it, and how are you finding it, Oh, also, what variant are you running.

Am I right in thinking you bought lee's car.
Have you dialled in your own settings or have you just left them as they were, don't forget I have been away for quite a while so not sure what's been going on, give me time and I will catch up.

As they were ..... Probably too hard for every day use but as mine only gets used now and again I like it ( and I'm a bit lazy)

my son had some tiens on his mini cooper with on board damping control I was impressed with them too

Same here. Meanwhile I've toyed with the settings using help from the forum (ExDos mostly) and my own experience with them. Very happy with the KWv3.

As myself and exdos found out after many hours/miles of research, you can really dial these things in to suit your particular driving style, well worth the time and effort.

KWv3 here. I ran alomst full soft for the first month which was an instant benefit, but a little floaty on the motorway. I moved to the KW suggested settings which is better, but a bit too hard on the bump for the roads where I live. When I get some time I'll dial it in properly. I also plan to fit adjustable camber plates on the front and camber&toe kit on the rear.

The trouble with settings that are supplied by companies or other people is that everyone drives a car differently, hence why you need to do "seat of your pants" set-up.
The best way is to find a stretch of road, hopefully quite close to you, that includes fast straights, twisties and some humps and bumps, ( not sleeping policemen ), then drive the route at your normal pace, see what the car behaves like, if you feel that you want to change things, then just simply dial in different settings and go for another run.
Obviously only change one thing at a time, and it does help if you fully understand what each adj. does, ie bump/rebound etc.
It can take a bit of time, but at least you are having fun at the same time, and at the end of it you will have a much better handling coupe.

I think with the exception Lee's old car (now Ragerover's) most people are running the regular KW V3 which is a bit softer.

Does anyone have any experiences with K-Sport coilovers?

They seem really good alternative to V3.

They offer true coilover setup where spring compression is independent from height settings (good for cornerweighting the car). They include pillowball front top mounts for camber setting. Dampers are combined compression and rebound adjustable - better than V2 which is just rebound; with V3 c/r are individually adjustable.

Full kit costs 1250€ in germany. But they are relatively new...

kw v3's here too with h+r arb's , was on the car when i bought it , previous owner had it set to max stiffness and seriously lowered !! it was like riding a skateboard , ive raised it up approx 10mm and now have it running a hell of a lot softer a huge improvement !, quite impressed even a few clicks here and there seem to make a difference
