  • How do I tell which KW Version is fitted?

I am looking at a car tomorrow that has KW coilvers, but I'm not sure that the current owner knows which version they are, they do appear to be Inox items, but not sure which ones!! If they are V2 or V3, where will I find the adjusters & what is the difference between the two versions?

    Photos would be great!!

    Cheers all!!
    2000 Cosmos Black S50, Kyalami/Black interior, KW V3s, H&R ARBs, Supersprint exhausts, Apex ARC8s.
1996 Dark Aubergine Escort Cosworth Lux with leather, GGR 305 chipped, GGR/Koni suspension, Black Diamond discs.
    2008 Orange/Black Westfield Megabusa, FW rear, Widetrack/Nitron Suspension, AP/Westfield 4 pots.
    Lots of Land Rovers!

If they're KW V2 then they are adjustable on rebound only and the adjusters are at the top of all four dampers. Likewise, the rear dampers will NOT be INOX, instead they are actually Koni dampers and are painted yellow: it's a big con by KW. To boot, the damping with V2 is dreadful!

KW V3 are all INOX dampers and also have bump/compression adjustment at the bottom of the dampers; the fronts adjust with an Allen key and the rears adjust with a small pin. If you look at the bottom of the rear damper in the photo below, the KW V3 adjusts at the point where the arrowhead is pointing. There should be a black plastic cover (as in the photo) which goes over the place for adjustment. The damper in the photo has been installed the wrong way by 180degrees because the aperture for adjustment is best facing towards the rear so that it is easier to adjust them. KWV3 is very good!

    Hope this helps.
