  • ACS flipper fittings

Does anyone know what the fittings are that come with ACS flippers and where I can get some please? I tried emailing Rossiters but no joy.

I've got a set of genuine flippers but no fitting kit......I assume they are a body moulding fitting of some kind?

Mmmm.....can I even bring myself to fit them? To flip or not to flip? That is the question.

Dave P will have this! There's a guide but I'm not on my computer to be able to find/link it right now! Sorry.

Sorry don't have a complete set but this is the type of fixing they use,

I bought some off ebay , M5 short screw anchor with flat head hole size 9.5/10mm, you will also need 25mm M5 stainless bolts and washers

They're basically like big rivets but the thread pulls the rivet tight to the bumper (so, in theory, you don't have to go behind the bumper). I tried but failed with a few on mine as the tool to hold them steady whilst you tighten didn't grip enough so ended up with some plain nuts and bolts.

Some self-drilling bolts would probably work well and much faster too.

            Thanks chaps.

Chris, did you mean you just used ordinary nuts and bolts where the fittings didn't grip properly? If so, couldn't I just bolt mine on with nuts and bolts if I could get to behind the bumper?

Yes, that's what I did with mine, though mine is a replica set the fixing kit looks identical to the ACS one. But thinking about it now I think some coarse thread self-drilling bolts from outside inwards would do the job.

Could you not just use body "glue" ?

Technology has advanced in this area so much since these where designed.

I have a new set with fittings but if I ever get round to fitting them I would be tempted to glue. You are likely to get a more even fit as well ?
