  • Z3M Coupe Fuel Door Lock Retrofit !

    Hi There,

I bought my Aug 98' Z3M Coupe on 2009 and till now I unlocked & locked the fuel door on petrol stations which was a real pain. I decided to lock it with central locking system and need some details for my install.

    Here are the unknown details,

    1. Right Rear Inner Wheelhouse Panel:
    New Part Number : 4114 8 413380 ( Produced between Apr '99 - Now)
    Old Part Number : 4114 8 400036 ( Produced between Mar '97 - Mar '00)

As my car is Aug 98' I don't have the new type "right rear inner wheel house panel". Difference between old & new panel is the "L" shaped bracket (rather than bumper bracket) for fitting "fuel door lock actuator bracket" and hole for fitting wiring harness blind plug.

Question : I'm not sure if New Part (8413380) has a hole and "L" shaped bracket fitted on it ?
    (Example Photo)

    2. Wiring Details:

Actuator wiring is going inside from the hole on the wheelhouse panel to main wiring harness.
Question: Is there any special wiring for that?

    3. Wiring cable support bracket:

For holding fuel door lock wire support bracket, there is a rivet screw fitted on "upper right exterior lateral part" part# 41218400040).
Question: On my car there is no rivet screw on exterior lateral part, how I can fit one is the question so any detailed photos would be appriciated.

Hi Cemal. So are you saying the petrol flap itself now locks, like on the S54?

It will be locked when I have some more attention on this thread.

I need to be logged into bimmerforums to see pictures I wouldn't think the wiring would be there for the actuator but the rest looks like it would be possible to retro fit? have you bought the parts?
