  • New listing - Estoril S50

    Guys,
You will recall my post last month (see below), as many of you contributed to it. I've finally decided to offer it for sale to members, before I list it with H&H Classic Auctions. Their next auction is on 15 April at Duxford but the closing date for entry is next Friday 20 March. Hence if any of you are interested in buying it and wanted to get in quick to avoid paying the buyers premium + VAT on the hammer price, I'm making it available for viewing etc this Saturday 14 March. I've been advised by H&H that they expect interest to be strong and that it ought to achieve something approaching £20,000. Please PM me if you'd like to arrange to see it (I live near Aylesbury in Bucks).
I look forward to meeting some of you.
    Thanks, Ian

"I've been an owner and member for 8 years and have reluctantly decided to sell my gorgeous car (see pics taken recently), as my wife was made redundant in January and it's hard to justify keeping it. I'd appreciate some advice on pricing it, as it's got 166,000 motorway miles on it! It was registered in October 1998 and has a BMW stamped service record every 6-7,000 miles at each inspection interval plus a pile of bills for all the other routine work carried out. No mechanical problems, goes like a dream still and as you can see, it's in fantastic condition inside and out…"

I'll start the sweepstake at a hammer price of £13,000

Not wanting to offend anyone, just my opinion.

I've a feeling that given the expectation set by the auction house that the cheapest way to buy this car may be at the auction. Shame really.

I can't see how this car can for only £3k less than the previous two sold at auction which had less than half the mileage. Ill be interested to see though.

              20 sounds pretty optimistic. I'll predict £15k

However, if I am surprised and 20 is the number, it will cheer me up as an owner of one on half the mileage, just as much as it will upset prospective buyers.

20k for a car with 168m on it??????

would love that to be true,

i bought mine for 13k with 92k, one lady owner and full service history....

sounds fairly optimistic but would like to see what it goes for.

good luck with the sale mate

If potential buyers are reading this don’t be put off by the mileage. I have a coupe that has covered 165k and it drives just as well (if not better) than the previous two owned with half that mileage.

12-14k is a realistic estimate given people’s fears of mileage imo.

Good luck with the sale and i hope to be proved wrong

No it's not - I decided against going to auction, as the 12% buyers fee seemed to be putting people off. I did have a member PM me, asking if I'd accept 18K and we arranged a day for him to view. He was then offered a much lower mileage car for 21K so he pulled out.

I've not advertised it for sale yet, as I've been away but will be doing so shortly. So, if any of you are still interested and want to make me a realistic offer, I'd be pleased if you PM'd me.
