  • Battery Question

    Hi all,

My battery has had it and I've had a look back through previous posts on replacements and I'm minded to go with the Bosch S5.

My understanding is that the 096 size model is the one that fits our car and I've found one on Amazon here:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bosch-Car-B.../dp/B005XVUQ6Y

However, Amazon has a car model checker and for some reason it says that the above battery wont fit a S50 M Coupe - does anyone know why that might be? If it is the wrong model, could someone point me in the direction of the right one?

    Many thanks,

    Adam

Looks about right to me - I measured yesterday and it is a bit taller than my current Bosch Silver, but should fit.

Managed to kill my battery last week by leaving the interior lights on after fitting a new stereo . Have just ordered one of these from Amazon, so will let you know how I get on.

Received today and fitted. A bit taller than the silver that was fitted before, but cover still fits and car starts again

Just in time for next week's sunny weather

Thanks for confirming, that’s good to know! I ended up getting a battery trickle charger to see if I can get a bit more life out of the BMW battery, but when it finally goes I think I’ll get one of these off Amazon.

Does it press tight on the cover, or is it a good fit? Also, does it have vents and does the original vent tube fit?

            Thanks

Fits fine. Not sure what you mean by vents/vent tube? The Bosch Silver that it replaced didn't have these...

The oem battery has a grey plastic vent house that exits via a hole in the battery tray
