  • Not a Z3M, an e36 m3 evolution coupe

All, for sale is my e36 m3, not a Z3M but same engine!

Thanks for looking at my advert.

The time has come to sell my E36 M3 Evo in Estoril blue. The reason for the sale is that I purchased a z3m coupe and as much as I love the e36 m3, the z3m coupe is now my focal point and the m3 is surplus. Plus space is also an issue.

I have owned this car since July 2015 and have covered less than 2000 miles as it’s a 3rd car.

    A bit about the car:
    • Colour - Estoril blue
    • Year - 1997, Prefacelift on a P plate
    • Mileage - 141k miles
    • Number of keepers - 9
    • MOT - until may 2019
    • Car is stored underground - in my ownership it hasn’t seen rain or salty roads!

    Bodywork
The paintwork is very good with remedial work to bring it up to a good standard.

When I bought the car, it required attention in the usual places and I had the following areas painted:
    • Front end - this included Bonnet, Front wings (brand new BMW front wings purchased) and front bumper -I also replaced the black bumper trims and number plate plinth. I had the inner lips of the arches rolled before painting to prevent the possibility of debris build up that caused the rust in the first instance.
    • Rear quarters and arches - the rear arch rust was cut out and new arch repair panels welded in - again the rear lip was removed and sealed to prevent this happening again.
    • Rear panel - there was some corrosion below the boot lid and this was also repaired.
    • Rear bumper - also included black bumper trim
    • Strut towers - there were some cracks appearing and I had these strengthened and repainted

The bodywork I would say is 90% as I think the colour match on the rear bumper isn’t perfect but it’s very good compared to a lot of other e36 m3’s and doesn’t suffer from tin worm!

Other points, it’s a non sunroof model and has rare lighter aluminium doors

    Wheels and Tyres

    • Style 24 motorsport wheels - staggered - fully refurbed by FA wheels with a lacquered diamond cut finish - amazing condition, as new
    • Uniroyal rainsport tyres - recently replaced, 7mm tread and a brilliant all round tyre
    • New centre caps

I did a lot of research to find the best place to return my wheels to an OEM finish , First Aid wheels in West Hampstead came up trumps, no expense spared and anyone viewing the car will be sure to agree, the wheels look epic.

    Chassis

Some preventative and required maintenance as follows:
    • Lower cross-brace “X brace” installed Differential reinforcement plates
    • Rear subframe nuts, bolts, studs all replaced
    • Upper and lower ball joints, tie rods replaced
    • Propshaft coupling replaced
    • All suspension bushes have been replaced with Powerflex polyurethane versions , ball joints have been replaced
    • Diff seals replaced
    • Replacement 6 speed gearbox as the previous once crunched in 2nd
    • Various hoses replaced in the engine bay

    Brakes
    • New OEM brake rotors all 4 corners
    • Brake pads: Pagid Yellow (RS 29)
    • Goodridge braided brake Hoses
    • All replaced less than 1000 miles ago

    Interior
    1. Grey leather Vader interior - the seats reflect 140k mileage , drivers bolster has wear and requires reconolising, some general wear on the interior
    2. Headlining is sagging but I have a black headling replacement that can come with the car - not had time to fit it.
    3. Upgraded head unit
    4. M pedals
    5. Omp non airbag wheel with removable boss - I love the smaller wheel and wanted a removable boss for security reasons- standard wheel also can be included

    Other items:
    • Brand new battery
    • Rear battery cut off as I keep the car stored and can’t access a plug point for a ctek charger

Service history is a mixture of BMW and independent.

Since I have owned the car it has been serviced by BMSport, BKR, Munich Power and BMR.

In conclusion, this is a solid e36 m3 evo that is in very good condition relative to its age. It has been maintained sensibly where necessary and has upgrades that improve it without deviating from the standard set up too much.

I am looking for £10k and happy to take viewings most evenings. The car is registered and stored at the same London address and the v5 is in my name.

It is for sale elsewhere for £10.5k so it’s at a discount for forum folk!
