  • Silverstone 2019 - Thoughts please

After what was a enjoyable but tiring and expensive 3 days at this years Silverstone Classic I am thinking of not organising this event again.

I am asking for peoples views on how we move forward and whether anyone else would like to take over from me. Another option is to work with Stacey and z.org and tag along with them and Stacey has kindly agreed to this idea in principle.

Please give me you views and ideas as there is a deadline for car club entries later this year.

I'm not too fussed, can understand if you don't want the faff, and would make it easier to tag on to another small group/forum.

I might give it a miss next year anyway. Although I said that last year and still went this year

      Hi Dave,

I had a terrific time this year, and as said, am really grateful for all your efforts.

I think our cars are niche enough to warrant a stand alone area, but I guess that could easily be a piggyback on z.org for instance and we just park together.

Can totally understand why you can't be bothered doing again - assume you'd still come though right...

If Stacy’s happy to take it on Dave, let’s join the hairdressers

If she wouldn’t mind, us parking the Coupes together and maybe still displaying the forum banners wouldn’t really be a different experience for us. I mean, our cars are t Zs, but everybody thinks they are anyway

It does make for an expensive weekend and that’s why I don’t go every year. Great to catch up with forum members, but that could always take place at less expensive events

Huge thanks for everything you’ve done in this and previous years

Maybe do the Cumbria show again next year? It was only a small affair but perhaps tie it in with some kind of Lake District drive/meet?

Great event this year and thoroughly enjoyable. Happy to mix it up next year with z.org as would be a bit different. I am only likey to come for one day next year as always clashes with first week of school holidays.!

Thanks for sorting the group for the last 2 years Dave - I’m happy to coordinate an ///m coupe gathering next year. Agree with others that hooking up with zorg group makes sense so long as we can display together - pretty sure that Stacey would help us with that and wouldn’t object to our forum banners

I saw Stacey's post on .org site last night and posted up some pics on the thread I'd got from a mate yesterday who was in the stands when we were circulating on our parade lap. I'll put some up on here when I get them on my Flickr page.
Thought Stacy's idea for combining the two groups on one pitch was a great idea especially as I saw today that Dave was not wanting to organise the event for next year. It has been quite a feat to organise the event the last two years so I can understand his reasons for handing over the job to someone else.

This years event was great and I can only echo everybody else's comments in thanking Dave for all his efforts in organising it.

With Stacey working at Silverstone I think she is ideally placed to organised a combined pitch next year. I sure she'll come up with a good plan!! Also Ian_C has offered to help and as I get on .org site quite a bit I could help aswell with the combined option.

It could be that I do just one or two days (Sat or Sun) next year rather than the full three days.

You guys know I LOVE the Z3MCOUPE and would be dead excited to make a joint stand with both forum banners
You guys would be the centre piece of the epic display and it saves me walking to a different area to see you guys
Dave I hope you are still coming next year
