  • 1st annual MC Karting meet.

    Morning all,

Having spent an exhausting, painful and massively enjoyable day at Buckmore Park in Friday I thought it’d make a great location for a meet, combining car natter with some driving fun.

Just canvassing for interest at this stage so whack your name down if you fancy it.

    Cheers,

    D.

    Yes yes, sign me up:

Would definintely be up for karting! especially on a proper outdoor track, but it's a bit too far for me to get to unfortunately. I don't want to hijack your idea but there is Daytona in Milton Keynes which is more central for people and may get more to go? A closed event is always good, but requires numbers - perhaps BMBabe can sort a group from "zorg" and turn it in to Roadsters vs Coupes?

Good. I’m not wed to the circuit Milton Keynes is fine - just testing the water.

I hadn’t necessarily thought it needed to be a closed event - even if 10 or so of us were up for it we’d just join and existing enduro, that would be fine for me. But yeah we could do that with enough numbers and coupe vs coupes be fun.

Can anyone whose interested in it whatever form it takes let me know and we’ll go from there.

      Cheers,

      D.

            Put me down for this.

There's a Daytona at Tamworth which might be more central for more attendees?

Sounds good to me either Tamworth or Milton Keynes. I think a closed event is better but from past experience it can be stressful to try and organise and get commitment.

Tamworth’s a bit closer for the northern lot, but appreciate MK may suit others more
                  Thanks for sorting this.
I may have to get mine serviced and off Sorn at this rate!

Good to see some interest - Think it’d make a great day.
If we get the numbers, and dependant on peoples finances) I have a few thoughts on how we could do the day.
Tbh even if we only have enough for 2 teams of 3 we could still enter an existing enduro so don’t need a huge take up.

I’ll let this run for a few days and see what we get up to and take it from there.

David, Thanks for your efforts in organising this!

A day's karting is many times cheaper than a trackday with your own car without any risk of damage to your P&J.

Personally I would prefer single racing rather than team enduro, but see what you find. I've not been karting for a long time and only to smaller indoor ones I used to go to occassionally they had "open" races where smaller groups as individuals could join a larger individual race.

I'll look into options once I've got a final idea on numbers. Do you have views on friends attending (as long as they arrive in the MC for instance?). Being such a rare breed there defo won't be enough for a private session, but I don't think that matters. If it works out then next time I'll go for something bigger.

To make my life a little easier if I could have a final nod by say next Wednesday that would be great.
And to get at least something tied down at this stage I'll say Milton Keynes for now, we can always do Tamworth next year for instance. Hope that's OK with everyone.
