  • Z3 fuel tank straps

There is a contributor on Z3 Roadster.org site who is in the process of getting copies of the Z3 fuel tank straps fabricated. At the moment he is getting some prototypes made and when these have been test fitted to his roadster he's going to order a batch of 100. Martin Brennan though the straps were the same on both roadster & coupe, he's going to buying some anyway if all goes to plan. Details on thread below.

Personally I would wait for BMW to re stock the genuine part as I would be wary of a non genuine part holding my fuel tank in place. I think the brackets are unlikely to fail on our cars they just look poor. Has anyone checked to see if BMW have an update on the currently unavailable part which I presume is part number 16111185032?

I've got a couple I never fitted. As above they look tatty but I think it's more they appear to get loose because the foam disappears between them and the tank.
