  • Boot light

While in the process of fixing a sticky boot lock - fixed by loosening the bolts of the lock from the inside and nudging the mechanising to the right a touch to stop the button rubbing on the outside and getting stuck, along with a health dose of WD40 - i thought i'd take a look at my boot light.

The issue i had was that boot light would work if set to the 'on' position, but when in the 'open/close' position, would not operate when the boot was opened.

With it all open, i found that the small micro switch attached to the boot mechanism had actually corroded (either some washer fluid from the rear wiper or water had somehow got in there) and the connection in the plug of the micro switch was non existent.

I've tried googling and checking REALOEM but have had no luck in finding the part number...if it's even possible just to get that switch.

    Anyone have any ideas?

p.s. if anyone has a spare working rear wiper motor i'd be very interested, mine seems to be dying a slow death...

I think the micro switch comes with the boot lock assembly only,

Ah looks like you might be right Dave, I see it on the pic!

I'll have to try a breaker to see if they have a part from another broken boot lock - or see if i can somehow fix this one...
