  • Wishbone replacement DIY?

    How difficult a job is replacing front wishbones on the M ? any specialist tools required?

    They are quite easy to do, the internal ball joint is usually the hardest bit to release and needs a ball joint splitter to whack it out. The nuts for the inner ball joint are also a bit of a paint to access. Other than that it's just the pinch bolts on the hub and the two bolts on the bush lolipop.

            New wishbone from BMW as per my journal,





            silver finish looks good but original was black, new old stock NLA centre nut off ebay and outer ordered in correct 1998 part number (not received yet)
