  • Wet Carpet Under Drivers Seat

The carpet in the footwell immediately below the front right hand side of my seat is damp/wet. Something's clearly leaking. I wondered if perhaps the rear washer pipe runs along there from the washer fluid tank in the front and is leaking? Has anyone experienced similar?

    Any help much appreciated! :-?

    Thanks!

Aside from pissing yourself through your ass hole by the sounds of the above responses

Has your window been fully closing?

Is a there any daylight between the rear window rubber and the pillar(roughly aligned with the rear seat).

I've had both window motors replaced on my car and both took a while to realign properly (ie went back to the dealer when I've been soaked at hand/jet car washes

Rubber seals too may need replacing.

Only thing I ever had like this was a leaking heater matrix (not on a MC though).

Re Broccers' post: yes have just had the motor replaced in the driver door so probably botched much like all the other work I've had done through BMW Battersea! eg mended passenger seat motor but simultaneously broke passenger seat heating unit! mended rear interior light but spilt muck all over interior of boot and golf bad AND left screws lying around! refurbed wheels but failed to replace locking nut! and seriously that's the abridged version and oh are generally useless in terms customer service ...

Dallon, had the same problem shortly after getting the car. Both footwells were damp. Turned out to be a loosened membrane behind the door fascia. Fixed by my indy for a very small fee.

Worth considering if you draw blanks elsewhere. :-P

                      Update

Stealers tell me that it's due to the door seal not working properly it has become compacted over the (seven) years!?

On my second MC and this has happened on both agree with dallon on this one, got so bad on my first MC that the I had to removed the full carpet and drain 3/4 litres of water , do you notice if the windows steam up very easily? this is a good indication of water penetration.
