MGR says he's tackled this problem. Not sure what he did though.

If you take off the door panel and apply liberal amounts of grease to the moving parts of the window regulator, this will certainly help - also doesn't leave lots of streaky marks on the window from spraying lubricant down the channel if you're not careful!

Gave to it BMW and said sort it !

they took the doors apart and lubricated everything and I think just moved the mechanisms etc and moved the rubber so that it fitted a bit better etc. They are much much better now, and take less than half the time to close that they previously didand a really smooth action .

Also make sure the triangle piece of glass that is fixed has not moved over time, if they are slightly out they can cause some extra pressure when the door was closed.

yeah, I think it is just a case of as you say removing the door cards and just manipulating / lubricating the moving parts and window rubbers to get the best action you can.

I'm not sure about removing the door cards, as I didn't have to do it, but I think having removed them on previous cars just undo all the screws etc then be cautious when pulling them off so that you dont snap anything.

remember they usually need to come up a bit as are hooked over near the top of the door. So pull up and out rather than just out.

might be worth having a look at a site like real oem or something to see if they have a diagram of the door cards so can see the fixing points etc before you start.

                    Melvin

Before you take the door apart, have you put silicon grease on the rubber bit on the pillar where the glass on the door touches when you shut it

I do this when my window is painfully slow opening and it fixes it for a few months, then I re-apply
                    looking
