    They are stripping it down tomorrow to confirm its the little end thats gone

              let just get her sorted and we will see afterwards!

              cheers guys, ill let you know more info as it comes, they should be stripping the head and sump tomorrow

              day to take out, day to strip, day to rebuild, day to put back in, so depending on parts could be sorted by next week

                  What better time to have some proper work done???

                  A pal of mine has just had his 996tt grown from a 3.6 to a 3.8 with a massive turbo upgrade also!!

                    Has anyone done a 3.4 Conversion in any S54 varient? Any ideas what sort of gains you would get?

                    Current - BMW M6
                    Previous - Estoril S50 '98

                      Has anyone done a 3.4 Conversion in any S54 varient? Any ideas what sort of gains you would get?
                      Unless someone knows of one that has been done before, I doubt this is possible or easy as the 3.2 M engine is an under squared version of the 3.0 (ie the stroke is longer to gain the extra cc) which isn't ideal (better to have a square or over square which means stroke is shorter than bore). I think BMW would have gone for over boring if it was possible and gain the extra cc that way (I have read that the bore spacing is on the limit on these engines already) and I certainly wouldn't want to make the stroke longer. It's amazing that this engine revs like it does and as smoothly as it does when you look at the spec of it!!

                        or maybe a madmax style supercharger could be the answer...........

                          its funny you should say that, nick suggested the supercharger then ill be pushing 450bhp, if i put in recaros and a GRP bonnet, boot and doors, i could lose another 100kg
