  • KW V1 Basic or Inox??

Hi all, looking at buying some items to lower my car and have been looking at the KW suspension.

I dont feel like i need the KW V3 with all the adjustment as i would never change things. I have been advised that KW V1 is a good compromise. Anyway, been looking on the net an dthere seems to be two types or KW V1. One is called "basic" (£790) and the other is "inox" (£980). The reason i liked the look of the the KW kits is that they do -50mm lowering.

Anyone know the difference as the write up on the site is pretty much the same. I have sent an email to supplier but i imagine i will get a "sales answer"

    Cheers in advance

-50mm is too much for a start. I think INOX is a different company/setup entirely (American?). I was aware of V1/V2/V3 etc. With V2 having rebound and V3 having bump & rebound adjustment.

Thanks for the reply. Why do you say -50 too low? Speedbumps etc? or other issues.

Sure Ever88 has the V1 which is sat at its lowest setting. I thought this will be -50mm but could be wrong.

Don't buy a kit that lowers more than about 30mm.

IMO even 30 mm is too much really esp at the rear and you will have clearance issues.

I had problems with mine and that was lowered about 25-30mm.

£790 for the KW V1 basic. Looks a great price for a KW coilover kit!
            Sorely tempted.
Anyone got any experience running this with standard wheels??

Pretty sure Ever88 runs this set up. Sure he will be along later to comment.

If its the one he has, he seem very pleased with it. Std wheels too.

If I were you I'd probably take H&R coilovers (not adjustable), it should cost around the same price. They come with gas based shocks and are supposed to be superior to KW's.

If you want an unadjustable suspension kit, don't bother with KW V1 get a Bilstein Sprintline kit and use it with H&R ARBs. It works great!

I use the kw v1 with H&R arb

how much lower than standard well I just set rears to lowest position and then set fronts to match level ride height.

                    10mm spacers all round

                    no bottoming out issues

being coil overs, I can adjust height to what I want but the adjustment in dampers is a track thing IMO.

roads around me are much too variable. the car would simply go from a track demon to a pig in the space of 1 mile.

I had a very sporty ford anglia and even on the softest setting with the dampers it was way too firm for roads near me and it would rev up when traction lost.

v1 with the other bits was a much better feel than the standard wheels on the bus feel.

I did away with the adjustment platform at the rear to get a little lower. would presume something like 40mm in total.

picture attached but we all have our own feelings on what is too low so choice is personal

Hi. Do you need to use spacers with kw 1 or you use it for better out look? (oem wheels) And can you adjust height of rear? I read somewhere you can´t. And sorry about my english. :)
