  • S50 vanos pressure limiting valve replacement

Has anyone replace their vanos pressure limiting valve if so is it just a unbolt and replace job?

I doubt it's like the filter in that respect. I think it's factory set as it's adjustable to set the vanos pressure so may vary car to car/vanos unit.

Checked on this part and it looks like it can just be swapped but it has several seals so can easily leak if not fitted correctly - one for my mechanic to fit I think

As I have one Vanos waiting for full service in my garage, I can remove this pressure limiter to see how easy/challenging it is to replace. I will take some pics to show how it goes.

If I remember, I try to do this during the next weekend.

It simply plugs out, nothing special to it. The torque felt to be rather low as the O-ring provides all the necessary sealing.

Goes back the same way, no challenge there.

              Hopefully this helps.
