I'm of the belief that they fail prematurely due to incorrect fitment. I've never had any problems with rear mounts and run dampers set quite stiff.

E46 Cabrio rear mounts are the ones people tend...

Theres not much scope to adjust the front rideheight with fixed springs. On the rear you can get thicker spring pads to adjust height easily; is itnot that the rear is too low rather than front too...

Ah I see! Couldn't really see from that photos. I do recall I only had one or two fracture spot welds in that group (which holds the crossmember/diff hanger) and it created a creak when setting off.
