  • Door Speaker Grill Removal

My door speaker grills could do with a bit of a re-fresh, was hoping to pop them off and give them a bit of fresh paint. Do these just pull off? I have tried prising with my fingers but there is a reasonable amount of resistance and I don't want to break anything!

    TIA

You’ll need to take the door card off first. That allows you to remove the tweeters and then you can bend the tabs of the metal mesh from behind

I left mine insitu - lightly scuffed with a scotch pad , masked and then rattle can painted with satin black (spraying from the sides to avoid getting paint on speaker cone)

I removed both my door cards in about 10mins yesterday using this guide.

I did my grills a couple of years back, made such a difference.

Yeah the door cards are easy to remove (more so with a trim removal tool) but at this time of year in particular with the cold temps, go steady because the plastic clips can break pretty easily (readily available if they do break however)
Not actually in the least bit fat

I had no choice... unfortunately the can of paint I have wasn't able to get the adjustment on my passenger door mirror working again - I'll never buy paint from Halfords again

I've gone with the majority - cards popped off relatively easily

                        Hi All

What paint did you guys buy for this?

Also, how easily is the HK grill removed in the boot to do that same to?

                        Cheers
