  • I got most of the things on the list ticked off this weekend
    • cleaned and protected wheel arch liners
    • cleaned, clayed and ceramic coated the wheels and brakes
    • refitted all ducting and undertrays at the front
    • fitted new headlight washer parts (previously dribbling!)
    • refitted the interior
    • New trim pieces at the back (either side of the boot lid)
    • quick wash

Unfortunately I had to put the old 8mm screws back in as waiting for new ones to turn up (lost in the post) and I haven't done the injectors yet. But otherwise she is ready for another season!

        Thanks Jess.

Have to admit I'm struggling to get the bumper and bonnet to line up properly on one side

          • After a long winter the Coupe is ready for another season :) I'm very happy with the work over the winter - just all of the underside to do now!

The car's currently in for an inspection II with DMWorx (bmw specialist). The valve clearances are being done too, with a full inspection and write up of the whole car.

Whilst it was in the owner suggested I have a compression and leak down test, as he's seen a few S50s with poor readings. I was worried!

All came up clean, very respectable numbers across the board and no outliers. Whilst it's there he's also taking CO readings and balancing the ITBs. Not many know what this is or how to do it, he's very thorough.

            Anyway, onto the pictures!

And finally part of the fleet!

                • Just got the car back and have to say I'm very impressed. Work done:
                  • Oil & oil filter change
                  • Diff oil change
                  • Gearbox oil changed
                  • Replaced AC belt
                  • Air filter replaced
                  • Brakes removed and cleaned down
                  • ABS sensor repaired
                  • Fixed a connector to the side light
                  • Valve clearances checked and changed shims
                  • Lead down test (OK)
                  • Compression test (OK)
                  • Injector duration balanced based on individual cylinder CO readings

As well as a general inspection with things that need to be looked at

I only drove the car back through 30s and 40s, in the wet, so no full pulls but I can already tell that the engine is much smoother. The exhaust used to burble on idle and that is now all gone. Fully recommend having those adjustments done and can't recommend DMWorx (Aylesbury) enough - ask for Russ

                  • Martin not wanting to be negative but the left side bumper looks in the pictures to be very close to the rear wing at the wheel arch end? the M Coupe was fitted with small rubber buffers to maintain the 5mm panel gap and combat this problem. details here,

                              • New MOT secured on Friday.

Since having the CO levels tweaked the emissions have reduced dramatically
