Have been visiting the site for about a month now, great place to research Z3 MC's for someone who has been wanting one for more than 10 years on and off

Decided not to post anything until I actually got the car home.
Mine came from Munich Legends, I saw some discussion on the forum about the car but nothing to put me off. Service from there was good, would go back again.

Yesterday morning at 5am I left home to go and collect my Laguna Seca Z3M.

Had all intention of coming home to start "detailing" and was looking forward to that at least as much as the 1,000 mile drive (live in Vienna for the moment).
Anyway, after crossing Germany in perfect conditions I now appreciate why I really bought it. Will be keeping it in good nick but it will also be lovingly used
Despite this I still had to wash it on arrival after 2 days driving, had enough problems with the wife convincing her that with 3 kids we needed a 2 seater car (it was the big boot that sold it in the end) , coming back with a dirty car she would really never of understood.

Looking forward to being part of the club

        Congratulations!

Thats some drive to pick a car up! I thought travelling to both Bristol and London, from Derby, for my 2 Z3MC's was a fair way to go!

I'm afraid I am no David Bailey and only had i-phone as camera....
Good to see I am not the only one.

Will try to get some better shots with mountains in the background as soon as I have completed the registration process to Austrian plates!

                Hi Andy,

I'm just down the road from you in Graz!! So with the registration will you not have to pay the NOVA tax? I keep my (UK) car out here with UK plates; it costs more to insure but at least I don't have to worry about speed cameras

                Cheers,

Sold but never forgotten: 2000 Estoril S50

                  Why to register in Austria

I looked at the option of keeping on UK plates but could only get insurance where I was not really covered as not resident of UK. Also do not plan to take the car back to UK for MOT.

I guess probably can get away with it but preferred to be all above board and will most likely stay over here for work for a few more years.

However, BMW Vienna put it through Austrian MOT today and found a rusty shock absorber. It's costing a small fortune for parts and labour, any suggestions for a good BMW specialist independent garage somewhere around Vienna? Would also like to get some underseal applied for protection before winter sets in...
