        I rember looking at the e30 when the e36 first came out and thinking how dated it looked...

          I recall thinking exactly the same.
          Now I find the E36 incredibly dated looking whereas the E30 just looks like a design classic!

              That's the thing I love about the M Coupe. Quirky mad looks and a hoot to drive. A real classic car IMO.

                              Those early fixed head E Types have to be the best photographic car silouette of all time .
                              No doubt the Coupe is a better drive but that E type is a motoring work of art

                                I have to agree- the Series 1 E Type takes some beating when it comes to beautiful design....Malcolm Sayer was a genius.
                                My father bought this one out of the free ads in 1972 for a few hundred quid......
