  • Alarm triggering periodically

    Hi all

Having a random issue with my alarm: after washing the car on the weekend (my first go with snow foam and a (low) pressure wash) I managed to set the alarm off. Fine I thought- I just unlocked and relocked the car with the fob.

Since then, the alarm has been going off daily at anytime between 11.30 and 12.30 for no apparent reason. I’ve checked the bonnet position sensor which seems fine - it is springing up properly and the wiring looks good (although I haven’t tested the power).

Otherwise the car starts and drives normally.

    Any tips?

You could try unplugging the bonnet sensor as these are normally the culprit for false triggering even when they appear ok

Thanks Dave. I’ll do that in the morning and see if the alarm continues.

Update: opened the bonnet, disconnected and reconnected the sensor and have not had any more chirps. Hopefully solved it- touch wood.
